About Gerald

Hi! I’m Teacher Gerald, a Licensed Professional Teacher and experienced English educator with 8 years of teaching experience.

I specialize in English language learning, communication, reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary, and academic English. I have worked with students from different backgrounds and learning levels, including elementary, junior high school, senior high school, and international learners.

My teaching style is student-centered, engaging, and practical. I believe students learn best when they feel comfortable expressing themselves, making mistakes, and actively participating in the lesson. I adjust my approach according to each learner’s needs, goals, and pace.

Whether you want to improve your English communication skills, strengthen your grammar and vocabulary, develop your reading and writing skills, or become more confident in using English, I’d be happy to help you reach your learning goals.

Let’s learn English with confidence and purpose!

Why Gerald tutors

I love tutoring because I enjoy seeing students gain confidence as they learn. Every learner has different strengths, challenges, and ways of understanding, and I find it rewarding to adjust my teaching approach to help them succeed.

For me, tutoring is more than simply teaching lessons. It is about creating a comfortable space where students can ask questions, make mistakes, express themselves, and gradually become more confident learners. Seeing their progress, even in small steps, is what makes tutoring meaningful and fulfilling for me.

A student Gerald helped

One achievement I’m really proud of is becoming a teacher and being able to make a difference in my students’ lives. Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to teach many different learners, and each experience has taught me something new. What makes me most proud isn’t just the years I’ve spent teaching, but seeing students become more confident, especially when they realize that they are capable of things they once found difficult.

Outside tutoring

Outside tutoring, I enjoy playing video games, watching esports, exploring new technology, and spending time with family and friends. I also enjoy writing, learning new things, and finding creative ways to improve my skills. These interests help me stay curious, adaptable, and connected with people from different backgrounds.

Specializations

  • Executive function and study skillsBuilds planning, organisation and study routines alongside the subject.

I have experience helping students develop practical study habits and learning strategies that make schoolwork more manageable. In my teaching and tutoring experience, I guide students in organizing tasks, following instructions, managing their time, taking notes, preparing for assessments, and breaking challenging activities into smaller, achievable steps.

I also encourage students to become more independent learners by helping them understand how they learn best and build confidence in managing their own schoolwork.
