About Dayle

I teach learners from kindergarten through adults in English, Math, and Science. I’ve worked with students at different levels and with different learning needs, so I adjust my lessons depending on what each student already knows, where they are struggling, and what they need to achieve. I like to make lessons interactive and comfortable so students feel encouraged to participate, ask questions, and learn from their mistakes.

When a student gets stuck, I don’t simply give them the answer. I break the problem or concept into smaller, easier steps, use examples they can relate to, and guide them through the process until they can try it independently. Whether we are working on reading comprehension, grammar, problem-solving, scientific concepts, or preparing for an exam, I focus on building both understanding and confidence.

I also believe that progress comes from consistent practice. I give students opportunities to apply what they have learned and encourage them to explain their thinking, because being able to explain an answer is often a sign that they truly understand it. My goal is to help students become more confident, independent learners while making each lesson meaningful and enjoyable.

Why Dayle tutors

I started teaching because I enjoyed seeing how a simple explanation could completely change the way a student understood something. One of the most rewarding moments for me is when a student who was unsure at the beginning suddenly says, “Oh, I understand now!” after working through a difficult question.

That moment is what keeps me tutoring. I enjoy getting to know how each student learns, finding the approach that works for them, and watching them become more comfortable doing things independently. Every student has a different starting point, and I like being part of the process that helps them move forward.

A student Dayle helped

One of the achievements I am most proud of as a tutor is helping a very shy student gradually become more comfortable and confident during our sessions. During our first lesson, she was so nervous about talking to someone that she joined with her hooded jacket covering most of her face. I never pressured her; instead, I encouraged her, reminded her that she had every reason to feel confident, and made sure she felt safe and comfortable in our lessons.

By our second session, she was already more comfortable showing her face, and by the third session, I could see a beautiful change. She began participating more, communicating more freely, and smiling throughout the lesson. Seeing that progress made me proud because it showed me that sometimes the most meaningful achievement is not a grade or test score, but helping a student believe in herself and feel confident enough to come out of her shell.

Outside tutoring

Outside tutoring, I serve as an SK Chairperson in my community, where I work with and organize programs and activities for the youth. I also enjoy watching movies, discovering new places, trying different food, and finding creative ways to make learning more engaging.
