About Blossom

I teach the foundations of English. With younger learners that means sounds, blending and the first steps into reading. With older learners it often means going back to those same foundations a child struggling with spelling in Year 5 is usually missing something from Year 1, and I'd rather rebuild that properly than paper over it. From there I take learners into comprehension and writing.

Every learner starts with a diagnostic, because I need to know where a child actually is before I map out where the gaps sit, what they're guessing at and how to support. From there, I tailor the teaching to that child rather than to a year group.

My lessons are engaging and interactive. I believe every child matters, and I give each one my best until their goal is met.

Why Blossom tutors

I teach because of what happens when a goal is met. A child comes to me wanting to read. Some weeks later, they read. That is my satisfaction, knowing a child got there, and that I was part of how.
