About Omar

I have been tutoring Mathematics and Physics for 4 years, working with high school and university students from different backgrounds and at a wide range of levels.

I graduated in Aerospace Engineering from Cairo University, which gave me a strong technical foundation in mathematics, physics, and engineering. But for me, good teaching is not just about knowing the subject. It is about understanding how a student thinks and finding the simplest way to make a difficult idea clear.

Many students I work with are not struggling because they lack ability. Often, there is simply a gap somewhere in their understanding. Once we find that gap and work through it properly, the topics that seemed difficult start to make much more sense.

My lessons are structured, but I don't follow a fixed script. I adapt the pace, explanations, examples, and practice to the student's level and learning style. I also focus on making students solve problems themselves rather than simply watching me solve them.

I teach in both English and Arabic, depending on what helps the student understand the material most clearly.

I have worked with students preparing for school exams, university entrance, and undergraduate coursework, as well as students who simply want to become stronger and more confident in Mathematics or Physics.

My goal is simple: help students understand what they are doing, become confident solving problems independently, and build knowledge they can rely on both in exams and beyond.

Why Omar tutors

I love tutoring because I enjoy seeing the moment when something that seemed difficult suddenly becomes clear to a student. It is especially rewarding when a student goes from saying “I can't do this” to solving a similar problem independently.

I also enjoy that every student thinks differently. Teaching gives me the opportunity to find different ways of explaining the same idea until it makes sense for that particular student.

For me, tutoring is not just about helping someone get the right answer. It is about helping them understand why the answer is right and giving them the confidence to solve the next problem on their own.

A student Omar helped

A high school student came to me six weeks before his final Math exam. He had been getting consistent scores in the 40s and was at risk of failing the year. His main issue was algebra - specifically, he had gaps from earlier years that made everything at his current level feel impossible.

I spent the first session just finding where the gaps actually were, not where he thought they were. We went back two years of material in terms of concepts, not to re-teach everything, but to patch the specific points that were causing the current problems.

From the third session onward we worked entirely on his current syllabus, but now the foundations held. He stopped second-guessing every step because the logic underneath made sense.

He scored 71 on his final exam. Not perfect, but he passed comfortably and finished the year. More than the grade, he stopped describing himself as "bad at math" - which was the bigger shift. That tends to matter more long-term than any single exam result.

Outside tutoring

Outside of tutoring I spend a lot of time on engineering projects -I did four years of hands-on UAV research at university which taught me to think practically, not just theoretically. That carries into how I teach.

I have been self-studying German for several years and reached B2 level, which keeps me aware of what sustained learning actually requires. Language learning and math learning have more in common than most people realize - both demand patience, structure, and genuine understanding

  • Logan truly enjoys working with Omar and they share a wonderful bond that reflects in his engagement and learning. The comfort and trust Logan has with his tutor make a real difference in his progress. Whenever I feel that school support is not sufficient for Logan, my first point of contact will be Ruvimo, as I have complete confidence in the guidance and support provided.

    Pre-algebra student's parent

  • Omar maintains a great balance between being supportive and gently challenging Yasmin, which helps build both her confidence and skills. His approach makes her feel comfortable, motivated, and actively engaged during sessions. Yasmin is at ease sharing her thoughts and questions with Omar, which reflects the strong trust and rapport he has built with her. Overall, his teaching style is both encouraging and highly effective.

About sessions with Omar

What does Omar teach?

Math, Physics, SAT Math, Accounting, English, for Grades 2 to 12. Sessions are 1-on-1 and live, and you can ask for a specific topic before the first one.

Will my child work with Omar every session?

Yes. Your child keeps the same tutor for as long as you want them, which is the point of the way we match. If the fit is wrong we will move you, and it costs nothing to change.
