Why Richa tutors
My first tutoring experience was during my Master’s, when some of my teachers would ask me to assist the undergraduate students struggling with homework or needing additional help to prepare for their exams. They loved my teaching style, which inspired me to eventually consider tutoring and teaching as a profession. I also enjoyed teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students when I was pursuing my PhD. Working with them after classes to address their learning gaps helped me understand how each individual has a different learning style and how I, as an educator, could customize my lessons to fit each student.

1) I recently worked with a 5th grader from Florida who was going to appear for the FAST test. She has always shown an interest in mathematics, but was lacking confidence during quizzes and tests in school. Since August, I've been tutoring her 3 times/week. With time, I could gradually see her becoming more confident and independent. She took the test in December and secured the first rank in her state (Florida). 2) I also worked with a 7th grader from California who had been struggling with math and science over the past one year, despite having reasonably good grades in 6th grade. We met several times a week - probably 5-6 sessions - and we worked together to ensure that he was gaining a good understanding of the material. At the end of the school year, he scored a 118/120 in Science and 85/100 in Math.
