About Minette

I have been teaching Mathematics for almost 4 years now, teaching students from all grade levels. I've worked in an online set-up (familiar with the US curriculum) and also in an offline set-up. My way of teaching is mostly student-centered with gamified activities to engage students and concept-based instruction incorporating HOTS questions and SOLO framework for formative assessment to strengthen the students' foundation in Mathematics.

Why Minette tutors

I want to continue educating students in Mathematics so that they can become more comfortable and confident in learning it. I know that Mathematics can be difficult, but I always believe that with the right instruction, patience, and guidance from a Math teacher, students can learn to appreciate Mathematics the way I do.
I want my students to become confident enough in Mathematics that they no longer feel the need to make excuses just to avoid learning it. Instead, I want them to see Mathematics as something they can understand, enjoy, and succeed in. Most of all, I am excited to see that confidence grow in each of my students.

A student Minette helped

I have this one student, when we first met, she was struggling to understand multiplication and division. But after weeks of learning with me, she gained confidence and was able to do multiplication and division on her own.
She was even surprised by what she could accomplish because, in school, her teacher usually had to sit beside her just to help her keep up with the lessons. Now, she can do it on her own.
When I spoke with her mom, she expressed how grateful she was because she could see her daughter enjoying Math and becoming more confident in learning it with me.

Outside tutoring

Outside of teaching, I enjoy both outdoor and indoor activities. I regularly play chess with my brother every weekend, and I read books during my free time. When I have the time, I also engage in singing and dancing to develop my skills, as I have always dreamed of becoming a performer or artist someday. :)

I also enjoy watching movies that resonate with me, particularly musical, family, drama, comedy, and action films, and sometimes thrillers.
