I teach ELA (English language as Arts) primarily to middle school and high school students in grades 6 through 10. Most of the students face difficulty in approaching reading comprehension. I usually begin with diagnosis of the student's prior knowledge in English Grammar. I run a quick trial by asking them to read and analyze a few lines of a passage that leaves me with enough idea about the learning gap. Once the student feels confident in the English Language itself, we move on to the literature bit. According to their grade I tailor make the sessions which would help them to develop their critical thinking skills. I also prefer to send worksheets as homework so that they can further apply the reasoning skills they have just learned in the session into practice.
