About Samuel
I believe English is best learned by using it, not simply studying it. My lessons are communicative, practical and learner-centred, with plenty of opportunities for students to speak, think, ask questions and apply what they learn. I use real-life situations, guided conversations, role plays, problem-solving tasks, vocabulary building, grammar in context and constructive feedback to make lessons both purposeful and engaging.
I adapt my teaching to each learner’s level, personality, goals and learning style. Whether a student wants to improve everyday communication, build professional English skills, prepare for an examination, improve academic writing, or simply become more confident speaking English, I design lessons around what will help them make measurable progress.
I also believe that mistakes are a natural part of learning. My classroom is supportive but purposeful: I encourage students to take risks with the language while giving them clear, useful feedback to improve their accuracy, fluency and confidence.

Why Samuel tutors
I teach children, teenagers and adults, from beginner to advanced levels. I have experience working with learners from different cultural and educational backgrounds and with students preparing for international examinations and curricula, including GCSE, IGCSE, IELTS, SAT, ACT, 11+, and other school and entrance examinations.
I particularly enjoy working with learners who want to become more confident communicators, whether that means helping a young learner develop strong foundations, supporting a teenager with academic writing and critical thinking, or helping an adult communicate more effectively in professional and everyday situations.
Ultimately, I want my students to leave each lesson thinking, “I can actually use this.” My goal is not merely to help students learn more English, but to help them speak, write and communicate with greater confidence and purpose.

One achievement I am particularly proud of is the work I did through the Literary Forum, an organization I co-founded and in which I voluntarily coached students in public speaking and communication, often using my break periods alongside my regular teaching responsibilities.
What makes this especially meaningful to me is seeing students who were initially afraid to speak in front of others gradually become confident presenters, debaters, poets and interviewees. Some went on to participate in debates, talk shows, poetry recitations, drama presentations and school events with confidence.
Watching a student who once struggled to say a few sentences eventually stand before an audience and express ideas clearly is the kind of achievement that stays with me. It reminds me that teaching is not only about passing on knowledge, it is about helping people discover what they are capable of.
Samuel B., in their own wordsOutside tutoring
Outside tutoring, I enjoy reading, writing, public speaking, exploring ideas, and spending quality time with family and friends. I also enjoy literary and cultural activities, particularly poetry, drama and discussions about language and communication. I am naturally curious, so I enjoy learning new things and discovering different perspectives and cultures. These interests often find their way into my lessons too, because I believe that the best teaching connects language with the real world.
