Why Joy tutors
I love tutoring because it gives me the opportunity to make a positive difference in learners' lives. I enjoy helping learners understand difficult concepts, build confidence, and discover their abilities. Seeing a learner progress from struggling to becoming more confident and independent makes teaching deeply rewarding for me. I believe every learner can succeed with patience, encouragement, and the right teaching approach, and I am passionate about creating a supportive and enjoyable learning experience for every child.

One achievement I’m particularly proud of is the progress I’ve seen in one of my learners, Eni, who initially struggled significantly with reading. She often found it difficult to read unfamiliar words and would rush to pronounce them without paying close attention to the sounds.
Rather than becoming discouraged, I continued to work patiently with her, focusing on building her reading skills step by step. We worked on syllables, digraphs, vocabulary, comprehension, prefixes, grammar, and reading fluency through engaging and age-appropriate activities. I also encouraged her to slow down, look carefully at the sounds in each word, and build confidence through regular practice and positive reinforcement.
It has been rewarding to see these consistent efforts begin to yield results. Eniola is gradually becoming more confident in her reading, participating more actively, and showing greater willingness to attempt unfamiliar words. Her progress reminds me that with patience, consistency, encouragement, and the right approach, learners can make meaningful progress even when they initially find a skill challenging.
Seeing that growth is one of the achievements that makes me especially proud to be a tutor.

Outside tutoring, I love spending time with my family, growing in my faith, and exploring my creative side. I enjoy learning new things, encouraging people, and finding little ways to make a positive difference. I’m naturally curious and love experiences that help me grow while also bringing joy to others.
