About Vani

Hello! I’m Vani, an experienced and passionate Mathematics Educator with 5 years of teaching experience, including over 2.5 years of online teaching experience with students from different countries.

I specialize in making Mathematics simple, engaging, and easy to understand. I have experience teaching students across different curricula and age groups, with a strong focus on building conceptual understanding, problem-solving skills, confidence, and a positive attitude toward Mathematics.

My teaching approach is student-centred and supportive. I believe every student learns differently, so I adapt my teaching style according to their individual needs, learning pace, and goals. I use clear explanations, real-life examples, practice questions, and interactive discussions to help students understand not just how to solve a problem, but why the method works.

I aim to create a comfortable learning environment where students feel confident asking questions, making mistakes, and improving step by step. My goal is to help every student become more confident and independent in Mathematics.

Why Vani tutors

I started loving teaching even more when I saw how much of a difference I could make in a student’s attitude toward Mathematics. I remember a Grade 9 student who came to me saying that she didn’t like Mathematics at all. We worked through her difficulties together, step by step, and gradually she started enjoying the subject. Later, she began scoring 100 out of 100 in her class. Seeing that transformation was incredibly rewarding for me.

For me, teaching is not just about improving marks. It is about seeing a student become more confident, start enjoying Mathematics, and look forward to our next session. I also genuinely enjoy building a connection with my students and making them feel comfortable enough to ask questions and share their doubts.

When students are happy with our sessions and parents share positive feedback about their progress and their experience with me, it gives me a real sense of fulfilment. These moments are what make me love teaching more and more.

A student Vani helped

One of my Grade 10 students came to me while studying Algebra II and was struggling to understand the concepts. After a few sessions, I realised that the difficulty was not only with Algebra II itself, some of his basic concepts from Chapter 1 and earlier middle-school topics were also unclear. Because of these gaps, he found it difficult to follow new concepts and solve problems independently.

Instead of rushing through the Algebra II syllabus, we went back and worked on those foundational concepts step by step. We practised the areas he was struggling with, connected them to the new Algebra II topics, and gradually built his confidence. It took time and consistent practice, but he eventually started solving questions on his own and completing his work with much less support.

As his understanding improved, his marks started improving as well, which gave him more motivation to keep working. By the end of the course, he successfully passed his exam with very good grades. What made me especially happy was not just the final result, but seeing how his confidence changed, from struggling with the basics to believing that he could actually understand and succeed in Algebra II.

Outside tutoring

In my free time, I enjoy bike riding, exploring new places, dancing, and connecting with new people from different backgrounds. I love having meaningful conversations, learning about different perspectives, and building positive relationships. I also enjoy dancing as a fun way to relax, express myself, and stay energetic. These interests help me stay active, open-minded, positive, and continuously learn from the people around me.
