About Vivien
Hi! I’m Vivien, an experienced and passionate teacher from the Philippines. I’ve been teaching learners of different ages and levels for many years, both in the classroom and online. I enjoy making lessons simple, engaging, and comfortable for every learner. I’m patient and encouraging, especially with beginners and students who need a little extra guidance. My goal is to help my students build not only their skills but also their confidence in learning.
Why Vivien tutors
I love tutoring because I enjoy seeing learners grow, gain confidence, and discover that they are capable of more than they think. Every student learns differently, and I love finding ways to make lessons easier, more meaningful, and enjoyable for them. Seeing a student finally understand something they once found difficult is one of the most rewarding parts of teaching for me.

When I’m not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family, especially my little boy. I also love learning new things, preparing creative teaching materials, watching movies or videos, and simply enjoying quiet moments at home. I believe that having time to relax and recharge helps me bring more energy and positivity into my classes.
Specializations
- Dyscalculia and math difficultiesWorks with students who struggle with number sense and arithmetic.
- Executive function and study skillsBuilds planning, organisation and study routines alongside the subject.
I adapt my teaching for students with dyscalculia by making math visual, concrete, structured, and meaningful. I break lessons into small, manageable steps, use manipulatives, number lines, and real-life examples, and provide repeated guided practice. I allow extra processing time, use different methods of solving problems, and regularly check understanding. Most importantly, I provide patience, encouragement, and positive reinforcement to build confidence while helping learners develop greater independence in mathematics.
I support students with executive-function challenges by helping them organize, prioritize, and manage their learning tasks. I break assignments into smaller steps, create simple study plans and routines, use checklists and reminders, and provide clear instructions. I teach time-management and study strategies while allowing flexibility based on the learner’s needs. I also provide regular encouragement and progress checks to help students become more organized, con
